Female beauty products distributors in China grew 8.1 percent in 2015, according to a report by cosmetics and beauty products company,azo.
The increase in sales and volume of products is likely due to the rise of online cosmetics shops and online beauty salons, as well as a drop in the price of some popular products.
The sales and volumes of some of the top-selling cosmetics and skin care products rose by 13.7 percent in the year-over-year period, according the report.
The company said it expects growth of 10.4 percent for the full year.
In the first nine months of 2016, female cosmetics and skincare sales increased by 17.4 per cent, according TOBIKIMOTO.
The growth is likely driven by the launch of the popular beauty products from e-commerce platform Alibaba Group in the first half of the year.
Female cosmetics sales are forecast to reach 1.3 billion in 2020.
