New York City has been an expensive place to shop in 2017, with the average home prices nearly doubling in the past decade, according to a new report from brokerage firm CoreLogic.
The average price for a two-bedroom home in New York increased nearly 50% from $1.4 million in 2015 to $2.6 million in 2017.
The number of homes sold in the city jumped from 5,087 in 2015, to 6,988 in 2017 — a rise of 70%.
The average price of a two bedroom home in Brooklyn increased from $3.8 million in 2016 to $5.9 million in the same period, a jump of 65%.
The median price for two-bedrooms in Manhattan increased from nearly $4.2 million in 2020 to nearly $5 million in 2021, an increase of 70% from the previous year.
The average sale price for an apartment in Brooklyn jumped from $2,958 in 2020, to $3,068 in 2021.
The median price rose by 40% from 2016.
The median sale price of an apartment is expected to rise by 35% to $4,054 in 2021 from $4 to $7 in 2020.
